How to Remove Spray Tan From Your Skin

Removing spray tan solution should be a walk in the park, but sometimes this process just won’t go as smooth as one might expect. There are numerous ways to do it; you have to choose the one that is most suitable for your skin. Also, it is important not to forget to remove the solution from your palms and nails as well.

So, without further ado, here are 7 pro tips on how to remove spray tan from skin:

  1. Take a Bath

Yes, something as simple as taking a bath can be more than enough to take the solution off. Namely, taking a warm bath will soften your skin’s top layer, which should cause the spray tan solution to fall right off. You can also use oil during your bathing session as it can speed up the whole process. Once you’ve bathed long enough, make sure you exfoliate thoroughly as well. Most tanning solutions stay in the top layer of your skin, which means if your top layer is loosened up, exfoliating should do the trick with the removing of the tanner.
  2. Use Exfoliant Scrub

As we already mentioned, spray tanning affects the top layer of your skin only, so the most efficient way to remove it is to scrub off the dead skin.

Here’s how to do it in 3 quick steps:
    1. Get in the shower and get your body wet.
    2. Apply the exfoliant and rub it using your hand or a shower sponge.
    3. Rinse off everything thoroughly
  3. Use an Exfoliating Glove

Using this glove is pretty much the same as using an exfoliant scrub. You can also add soap or lemon juice to the whole process.

Here’s how to use an exfoliating glove:
    1. Get in the shower and get wet.
    2. Wet your exfoliating glove as well.
    3. Rub off your tan with the glove. Optional: Add soap to speed up the process.
  4. Baking Soda/Lemon Paste

Ok, this DIY paste is a true miracle worker. To make it you have to mix lemon juice and baking soda together and stir it until you get a nice paste-like texture. Use a sponge to scrub this paste onto your skin in the shower (if you don’t have a sponge or a loofah, use your hand). Let the baking soda do a nice job exfoliating your skin and then rinse off the paste along with the dead skin and your tan. Shower normally after the whole procedure.

  5. Use Baby Oil

Baby oils are also rather potent when you need to remove the top layer of your dead skin.

Here’s how to remove spray tan from skin using baby oil:
    1. rub the oil onto your skin
    2. wait at least 10 minutes
    3. rinse it off
    4. exfoliate
  6. Go For a Swim

Go to your nearest pool, swim a little and let the chlorine in the swimming pool do all the work for you. You may need a few swimming sessions to completely remove the tan from your skin, but it will be worth it (it is great for your figure as well!)
  7. Remove the Spray Tan from Your Palms and Nails

Don’t forget to wipe off excess spray tan that is stuck around your nails and your palms. You can use an old toothbrush and any kind of whitening toothpaste for this process, while acetone works well too. Don’t forget to rinse your hands after you’re done.
